The mobile gaming sector, a relatively new outgrowth of the entertainment software industry, makes an important contribution to overall computer and video game sales. Due to popularity of smartphones, mobile games have received a burst of attention, driven by strong consumer demand, focused on producing innovative new technologies and creative new products.

Due to great demand and obvious competition there are various games on similar theme and style. It is very difficult for indie game makers to get noticed in the market. Art Style plays a vital role for any game to give its own identity. A unique art style always attracts gamers. In my session I will be focusing on developing Art Style for mobile games.

I will demonstrate how easily 3d assets can be created using new Maya LT program. We will start with proper planning for physical scale and then start building our assets using simple techniques. Also I will discuss on the important points to take care while developing 3d assets. As mobile platform is still restricted we don't have freedom for high poly models and high res textures but we can still achieve high quality results if we follow certain rules and techniques. This session will cover all the tips and tricks for modeling optimization.

Before moving on to texturing UV unwrapping is the most important of all. We need proper planning for getting the best result out of textures. Overlapping the UV shells are one of those important topics which I will discuss here. Later I will manually paint the textures using Photoshop. This is going to be comparatively easy, once we have hands on painting technique. In the end I will discuss all the important points to take care for final optimization and exporting assets for game engine.
